Rix Atari8 A/V BOB
*NEW* Ver 2! Now in colors!

Welcome to 2026. A few requests for this has resulted in a 3D printed Version 2. A little smaller than the original. The features haven't changed. This breakout box(b.o.b.) uses older standard phono cables for video, chroma, luminance, and audio, and will accept an s-video plug/cable. These video outputs will provide a superior picture over using the RF jack or Composite Video on the 8 bit console. See More Notes Below.

(Atari 800) (Atari XL) (Atari XE)

I mostly use Bambu PLA Basic or Matte filaments(hex colors above), but playing around with other brands(Teal above is Polymaker).
I can also print in PLA tough gray for harsher environments.
Email me with color choices, I will let you know if I need to make any. Thanks.

I also have some of the older A/V cables. Ask.

MORE NOTES
For the phono cables, hold the b.o.b. and push in the cables with a slight twist. Remove with a slight twist as well. Use care to hold the s-video cable the right way, usually with the flat side up(towards the label). For longer distances, higher quality cables are recommended.

The 8 bit monitor plug inserts into the jack (on the right side or center back) with the 5 pins at the bottom.

Note that some 8 bit models do not have monitor jacks. And some with the jacks do not have the chroma line connected. Testing has shown that a short jumper between the video and chroma jacks will provide a signal suitable for s-video, although of lower quality than using an actual chroma signal.

Also, this b.o.b. will NOT provide RGB or VGA signals. These signals are not present on the 8 bit monitor jack.
