EM0029/30/31 Rix EASI/O Adapter cables: More Details: These cables connect the Atari 8 bit to other devices. The "S" Cable connects the computer to a switch box or other sio devices(Rix SIO hardware made for this specifically). The "P" Cable connects an Atari printer interface to a db25 switch box or cable for multiple standard printers. Show me how to connect.HERE. The cables themselves are easy to wire up yourself...just solder SIO 1-13 to DB25M 1-13. Note the SIO wire colors vary.Also, DB25 wires 14-25 are reserved for special applications and do NOT feed thru when used in projects. Note on DB25 switch boxes: Now, all you can find is boxes using all female connectors. They assume most of the devices switched will be printers, having a male connector for the box end. Modems though, have a female end, requiring a m-m adapter(gender changer). So don't forget to keep a couple handy. I use the slimline type most of the time. While the Atari SIO is basically serial, the cables should be female, but the EASIO cables I wire up have male connectors for this specific application. |
