130 XE mem Upgrade Type 2: EU0040 $10-$40 More Details: This is a memory upgrade for the rarer 130XE that uses 4 64K X 4 bit Dram chips. 2 chips are for main memory, 2 are used for memory banking. By replacing these two with 256K X 4 bit chips and adding a little extra circuitry, you can have 256K for a ramdisk. Buy the pcb, get the parts yourself, or get the assembled version(ready for standard or machine sockets). This requires removing two dram chips on the main board, installing sockets, and soldering 4 wires. Thanks to Larry W. for lending me his 130XE, to Windhover for the original 130XE upgrade(1985), and Bob Wooley for the ram refresh circuit from his 1 meg simm upgrade. |
