Revised Note: As much as I love doing this stuff, there is not enough going on for me to devote as much time as I have in the past. This is now only a HOBBY! Orders will take longer. I now look at email and paypal when I have time. This could be weeks apart. I have a real life and real job(especially busy during elections). Everything takes longer to get shipped. If I have to order parts or make something, then a long time.

Case in point- the tube cases for the A8 and Jag AV BOBS. Starting in Sept 2010(suddenly a pile of orders for things I didn't have ready, natch), I had to make three router templates to get to the point I liked the results from the pvc tubing stock. I still had to shape the inside for the svideo jack, sand, clean, paint them(when the weather is good), and apply a decal/label, and lacquer spray finish. Add to this making the cable assembly and putting it all together. And I was filling other orders that also came in at the same time. Finally shipping now, late Jan 2011. I simply don't have the time or desire to engage in email chasing or debates on the process. If you don't like it, don't order(come to a show instead).
If you file a paypal dispute, order gets cancelled/refunded when I get to it.
Result of the BOB process, I made 50 tube cases, so I can actually get some ready for stock.

01Jan2012:Sigh...wouldn't you know. I get the tube cases made, and the phono connector strip I need gets discontinued. The replacement is so thin and cheap that the solder tabes bend and fold in on themselves shorting it out. Still looking.

Most of the stuff we produce is made with non Rohs compliant materials. The solder contains LEAD. This is classified as a hazardous substance. This is allowable due to these items being made to repair or upgrade consumer made products produced prior to June 2006. When lead free soldering is as easy as lead based solder, for the hobbyist, this may change. We will buy lead free parts when possible. The new non computer/console kits will be lead free.
* WEEE *
One of the changes in Europe is WEEE, a system for manufacturers to reclaim and recycle the products the make. In many areas, this is now law. I do not see my business type in the categories I found, so to sell to Europe, I will send them under my name. The only receipt will be by email. I don't have a problem with this as I am, like most of us, hobbyists, selling relatively few of anything we make. I will take anything I make back for recycling, postpaid!
